Twilio BYOC integration
Twilio BYOC AI Voice — keep the number you advertise
No port-out, no number drama. Bring your Twilio numbers via LiveKit SIP, attach a spec-first receptionist that answers in <1s, and keep the caller experience in one reviewable Agent Spec.
Your number, your carrier
Authorize the SIP trunk and the number you already advertise stays yours. The Agent Spec is carrier-neutral — move between Twilio and other SIP providers without rebuilding the agent.
Live call handling under 1 second
VoiceForge picks up in <1s when free, fires instant SMS when busy, and handles interruptions and silence without dead air. Every path — answer, text-back, callback — is logged with outcome.
Books the calendar you already use
Checks Google Calendar, Calendly, Cal.com or GoHighLevel live before offering Tuesday 2pm. Validated, permissioned, idempotent where the API allows it — no double bookings on speakerphone.
Spec-first, then publish
Describe the caller experience; VoiceForge generates a Zod-validated Agent Spec JSON. Test the full call in the browser — transcript, events, tool activity — then publish the version you tested.
Compliance in the path, not the docs
BYOC does not bypass policy. Outbound calls require a passing check across consent, DNC/DND, opt-out, window and disclosure. Blocked by default for cold sales and regulated advice.
Frequently asked questions
- How does Twilio BYOC work with VoiceForge?
- Bring your Twilio numbers via LiveKit SIP — no port-out. The Agent Spec stays carrier-neutral; VoiceForge routes the call through your Twilio trunk and logs transcript, events and outcome per workspace.
- Do I need to port my number away from Twilio?
- No. BYOC keeps the number where it is. You authorize the SIP trunk, VoiceForge attaches the agent, and the caller still dials the number on your website and Google listing.
- Can I use the same number for voice and SMS?
- Yes. Keep voice on VoiceForge and SMS on Twilio — or run missed-call text-back through VoiceForge. Either way, the number the customer knows does not change.
- What about compliance on BYOC calls?
- Outbound calls still pass the compliance gate: permitted purpose, consent, DNC/DND, opt-out, calling window, AI disclosure and recording notice. Carrier does not bypass policy — cold sales remain blocked by default.
